Energised Alliance - St. Peters Zone Substation Conduit Works

Works included Bulk Excavation, Hand digging around services, Installation of drainage and hydraulics, installation of Joint Bays, pile trimming, Preparation of oil feed tanks, roadworks, conduits and earthing requirements.

 

 

Energised Alliance - Marrickville

 

Scope of works included:

  • Piling preparation, pad installation, and treatment and removal of piling wastages.
  • Pile trimming using pneumatic jack to split piles and piles scabbler to form piles at correct level.
  • Bulk excavation of new cable marshalling area, this included the excavation of pass material in accordance with NSW DECC Regulations.
  • Installation of below ground drainage for basement and preparation of pre-finished floor.

Infrastructure Constructions Pty Ltd - Dee Why Clarence Project

Scope of work includes:
  • Installation and maintenance of traffic control measures
  • Installation and maintenance of environmental controls
  • Excavation of trial holes by hand or the excavation by hand or machine to locate the end of conduits
  • Breaking out and removal of all surface materials, and the breaking out, removal, and care of special surface materials
  • UPVC ducts in trenches and existing, between 50mm and 150mm internal diameter, including telecommunication ducts
  • Installation in ducts
  • Backfilling 14:1 and 20:1 sand cement mix
  • Hot mix areas to finished thickness of 25mm and 50mm

Energised Alliance - Ku-ring-gai to St Ives 33kV cable replacement project

The project involves profiling surface / sawcut surface, excavating a trench in other than rock (OTR) and dispose of materials, lay 4no. 200mm diameter conduits and 2 no. 63mm conduits, supply and install TSB bedding, and backfill and reinstate road pavement and surface.
 
As works are taking place within residential areas traffic control measures have been applied to facilitate smooth vehicle access in and out of the area for the duration of the project.

  • Installation of various temporary structures, including handrails, kickboards and safety fencing

Trenching
  • The supply, operation, and maintenance of all plant, labour, and equipment to install four 200mm diameter conduits and two 63mm diameter conduits on the line
  • The supply, installation, and removal of all shoring required to maintain launch and receive pits
Open trenching
  • Installation of 10no. precast optic fibre jointing pits. Optic fibre pits will be approximately 1, 400mm long x 500mm wide x 900mm deep
Joint bays and DTS pits
  • Supplied all plant, labour, and equipment to install six precast joint bays. Pre-cast joint bays have internal dimensions of 9, 000mm x 2, 000mmx 1, 200mm deep with 250mm walls
  • Supplied all plant, labour, and equipment to install two DTS pits located in the nature strip adjacent to the joint bays, with approximate internal dimensions of 1, 000mm x 1, 000mm x 900mm deep
Spoil, groundwater and materials handling
  • Supply, operation, and maintenance of all plant, equipment, and labour to manage, load, cart, and lawfully dispose of off site all spoil generated by works

Heyday Group Pty Ltd - Colooli Road, RSL ANZAC Village
 
The site is a 1.8 kilometre cable route located predominantly on public roads between STS Ku-Ring-Gai substation off Kulgoa Road, Pymble. NSW and St Ives zone substation at the intersection at Mona Vale Road and Memorial Avenue, St Ives and located along Mona Vale Road, Vista Street, Rosedale Road, Vista Street, and Kulgoa Road.
 
Scope of works included:
  • Installation and maintenance of environmental controls
  • Installation and maintenance of traffic control measures
  • To supply all plant, labour, and equipment to install six precast joint bays. Pre-cast joint bays will have internal dimensions of 8, 500mm x 2, 000mm x 1, 200mm deep with approximately 150mm walls. They are assumed to be pre-cast in one segment of less than 20-tonne per segment.
  • The top of pits are to be installed 250mm below surface level and bedded on a 75mm layer of compacted sand or equivalent without entry to the excavation by workers. Supply all plant, labour, and equipment to install the precast joint bay trafficable lids on the joint bays ensuring they are level with the surrounding surface level. Lids will have approximate internal dimensions of 1, 000mm x 1, 000mm x 900mm deep.
  • Supply all plant, labour, and equipment to install three DTS pits located at joint bay 1in Ku-Ring-Gai substation, at joint bay 3 on Vista Street in the footpath opposite property no. 29 at approximate chainages 525 and at joint bay 5 at Putarri Avenue with associated conduits and accessories. DTS pits will have approximate internal dimensions of 1, 000 x 1, 000 x 900mm deep.
  • Provide all necessary penetrations in the pits to install connected conduits and grout any remaining penetrations with epoxy grout.
  • Supply all plant, labour, equipment, and materials for the backfilling of all excavations around structures with 14:1 stablised sand and in accordance with the relevant EnergyAustralia standards, and road owners specification.
  • Supply and maintain edge protection, such as handrails and kickboards, around all excavations at all times when not covered, in accordance with Australian standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Installation of all grates, covers, lids, step irons, frames, and other associated components. All supplied materials are required to meet EnergyAustralia standards.

The project involves excavation of trial holes to locate theends of conduits, breaking out and removing all surface materials, excavationof joint holes / bays in material OTR, installation of UPVC ducts (including telecommunication ducts) in trenches greater than 50mm internal diameter andless than or equal to 150mm, horizontal boring, installation of power andcommunication cables, installation of polymeric cable covers approximately300mm wide, backfilling, and the disposal of surplus excavated material ormaterial unsuitable for backfilling.

The project also involves the implementation of a trafficplan in order to facilitate the safe and smooth flow of traffic in the areassurrounding the works.

Infrastructure Constructions Pty Ltd - Karranga Avenue, Killara

Exisiting outdoor enclosure substation S590 Karranga Avenue is presently overloaded. It has exceeded its cyclic rating of 960A in the recent and previous years. Peak loads above the existing substations cyclic rating can be continually expected based on the pattern of the substations peak loads and continual development occurring in the area. A recent load application for 150A was received from a house in Springdale Road supplied by S590, an uprate of the existing substation is required to cater for existing and future loads caused by developments like this.
 
Scope of works included:
  • Existing surface outdoor substation 590 is to be uprated to 2 x 750kVA transformers, with new RMI's and LV board.
  • There is approximately 700 metres of excavation required for LV and HV underground mains
  • Five spans of HV overhead bare mains are to be removed including LV augmentation
  • Installation and maintenance of environmental controls

The job involved substation entry permits, street-lighting conduit installation, including ragbolt assembly, electrical conduit installation, rock breaking, standing light columns, electrical cable hauling and jointing.
 
Scope of works included:
  • Excavation and laying of approximately 19 metres of DN200 PVC 16 water main, 41 metres of DN200 DICL class K12 with concrete encasing
  • Installation bends, valves, and hydrants, thrust blocks, and valve pits
  • Service connections of 450 x 200 hot tap and 375 x 200 hot tap
  • Backfill pipe bedding and trench and compact to standards

LCPL - Transit way - Liverpool, Ashfield.

Involved the installation of high voltage electrical conduits, including pipe laying of 125mm and 50mm diameter HD PVC Orange conduits and 1400mm deep 14:1 sand cement back fill extra over to concrete encasement. Also included electrical cable hauling, substation entry permits, and rock breaking.

Haul 2km of 240mm sq 11KV 3C CU XLPE/PVC cable through Parramatta CBD. Included pulling mandrel, roping, hauling, turning pits and jointing bays. Additionally, works included open cut at Church Street and installation of new pillars. The project also involved substation entry permits, electrical cable hauling, installation of electrical conduits, and rock breaking.

Involved the installation of 3km of various size stormwater from 300mm diametre to 1, 200mm diametre reinforced concrete and FRC stormwater pipes and the installation of 6km of shared trench, transmission conduits, LV conduits, subducts, and roping. This project also involved the installation of light pole footings and conduits for street lighting, installation of pre-cast pits, gross pollutant traps, headwalls, and of subsoil drains.
 
Works undertaken behind segregated works area along Windsor Road and Sunnyholt Road. Permits to excavate implemented due to high density of services.

Involved the installation of approximately 6.5km of stormwater, varying in size from 225mm diameter to 2m diameter, including catchpits. This project also included the installation of approximately 6km of Telstra conduit, approximately 5.5km of Energy Australia conduit, and the installation of sub-soil drainage and various other water diversion, groundwork, and site preparation work.
